What is this crawling feeling in my ear?

I have had it for the last few months now. R ear. Feels like there is something crawling just inside it; to the point where I have to keep feeling my ear to check there's nothing there! Doesn't hurt or feel noticeably blocked although I have had to ask people to repeat themselves / have the tv in louder than usual. Any ideas? Should I go to GP?

It could be wax blocking your ear and mocing a bit (but not enough to come out and clear). DD1 had an olive oil spray which shifted hers.

I'd see the GP first, as they'll be able to tell you in seconds.

I would go to the gp. That must be an awful sensation.

Are you sure it's not blocked? You say you don't always hear too well from that side.

My ears became blocked gradually over time and I was getting all sorts of popping and funny noises by the time I decided to do something about it.

Got ears syringed and now have supersonic hearing. I had no idea they were so blocked. The dullness to my hearing was gradual and I think I just got used to it.

Thanks for replies. Think will go to GP. Hard to explain what I mean re not blocked: I don't think my hearing is right but it's not the same kind of feeling as eg when you go on a plane or in a swimming pool and get blocked ears from pressure/water. But maybe the wax idea explains it!

Wax in ears can make you hear and feel all sorts of weird noisesConfused Esp if water gets trapped behind it. But I think the brain is quite good (up to a point) of tuning it out, until it gets too bad to ignore.

If gp suggests syringing you'll probably have to put in olive oil drops for a few days to soften it. This isn't too nice as I found it completely blocked my ears altogether. However it makes the syringing work better and the relief is bliss when it's all clear again.

Hi there, I know this is years old... but I was wondering what the sensation in your ear ended up being? Smile
