What would you do if you needed new glasses quickly?

Not sure if this is health...I lost my glasses today; I am a teacher, and I need to replace them quickly. Are internet sites quicker than the optician? I have a prescription. Please give me some advice!

Internet sites can be quick ...speckyfoureyes was recommended to me but when glasses came they were too big. Are you myopic or long sighted. If you are longsighted then pound shops and the like actually sell those prescriptions and they are not too bad.

I think vision express can do them in an hour if you are a fairly normal prescription .

If they need to be sent to be made ask to make a note to be done quickly, I did this as I was going on holiday and they got it from 7 days down to 2 days (my prescription is a tricky one)

If it's a fairly straightforward prescription, try one of the big supermarkets. They're fairly speedy (and cheap)

Or get contacts, they are on the shelf.

If your eyes aren't too complex, anywhere with an inhouse lens production will be able to make them that day. But even with ordering, my last glasses (v complex) took 3 days

Try specsavers.

When mine broke when DS was in hospital I explained I needed them quickly and even though I only went in at 5pm they were ready for 10am the next morning. They also do new glasses in an hour for non complex prescriptions

When mine snapped in half at work I went to Vision Express. They were ready in an hour.

Thanks for the advice. I found mine this morning, and was ridiculously happy; I had dropped them in the school car park. It has made me realise I need some spares, so will follow your advice and try Vision Express or Specsavers on Saturday, now that it's not so urgent.
