Short back story: rented property with a Rayburn as main heating source. First lit in Sept CO alarm instantly went off. So ce the we've had numerous back and froths with the landlord who's best soloution was to not light it (that was it! No idea what we should do for heating). It ce to a head beginning of Dec when after another sweep it was still sounding and kids and I were feeling generally unwell. They were staying at their dads more and more as the house was either freezing or full of CO. the LL finally stumped up for some chimney work after I contacted enviro health and its been fine since.
However kids and I have been unwell since yesterday with headaches and feeling sick. I hadn't suspected CO as the alarm hadn't gone off. Just went to check it and it had fallen down the back of the counter and the batteries were out plugged it back in and it a immediately started ringing.
Obviously I've poured salt in the Rayburn to shut it off and opened all doors and windows. The kids are asleep upstairs and is rather not wake them but given they've been exposed for about 48 hrs now (since I lit the Rayburn) would you wake them to go to A&E or just GP in the morning?
