DD is just getting over it. After two days of tripping over DS to stop him playing with her puke, I fear the rest of us will be next..

I'm just on day one of recovery, horrific vomitting and diahorrea between ten last night and four this morning, then it stops but it's totally wiped me out.

Its awful, you definately know you've got it.

You would know if you had noro.
Explosive vomiting and diahorrea usually at the same time!
Takes a few days to feel better.

IME noro is pretty explosive and completely wipes you out. You'd tend to know about it of you've had it.

I had it last week, I was not sick but felt like I was going to be. Had temp, runs, knackered, for five days. Still not able to eat without feeling sick. I think symptoms depend on your constitution and immune system.

I had it at the weekend. It was really quick, just felt exhausted and nauseous for a couple of hours then 2 hours of sickness and a couple of days reduced appetite. It doesn't sound like you and your DS have it.

I have felt nauseous on and off for a week without vomitting. Can you get norovirus without actually vomitting? My son has had the same symtoms today so I don't think it is anything serious. I thought norovirus was vomitting and diarrhea.

Anyone else experienced this?

I got back to find that half the team have had it (and I imagine the other half will be getting it shortly).

The 48-hour thing is so important but unfortunately management at my place frown on anything like that and I'd be in a whole world of shit if I hadn't gone back when I did. We all went back to early. I just hope management all go down with it too, that'll learn them.

Please, anyone who gets this, remember that it is highly contagious and you should stay off work or school for two days after symptoms have stopped. If other people had followed this rule, I might not have picked it up while pregnant. Bloody miserable experience.

I was pleasantly (if that's the word ;) surprised at how quickly this passed. Not even 24 hours really. Still off work today but back in tomorrow and staying well away from colleagues, not difficult in my job.

Just hope I haven't passed it on to anyone else as I was in work on Sunday just before it hit me.

It's the time of year though - so many people go down with things around now. I dread the children getting things - not only because it's horrible to see them poorly, but taking time off work is so hard with children isn't it? Now that's a new thread if ever I saw one

Thanks but It's tricky because next week is my last week at work and in the last month I've already had three days off (plus today) - first for what felt remarkably similar to this (lots of vomiting but no diarrhoea), then a flu-type bug that still hasn't gone a couple of weeks later. So I guess my defences are down otherwise I might have been OK. I think work are probably rather suspicious!

It got me last night and a colleague this morning. I only had it a month or so ago!

Starting to feel a bit better though still got the runs. No appetite at all. Feel utterly pathetic!

I'm fine thanks - it was clearly just a wave of nausea! No idea what or why but thank God! Thank you.

Sounds like it. But it is relatively short-lived in most cases. If it is, be prepared to dig in for the night, and then rest up for two days after the last appearance of symptoms.

You will know soon enough. It is know for sudden onset.

What are the syptoms?? I feel hideously sick very suddenly - just cannot afford to get this Every member of my staff at work (all 3 of them!) is off this coming week with illness or leave/ Please tell me it isn't it..
