not chickenpox, but what could it be?

My son (8yo) is home today with what looks like chickenpox, but he's had it before (v mild case) and also had the varicella vaccine when he was little (v sick guy then - would have been quite bad for him to catch).

Any ideas? Could it be chickenpox (oh please, no...)? We're headed to the doctor in an hour or so, but thought I'd ask and see if anyone had any thoughts.

Thanks!

Well my dd had the chicken pox when she was very young, she then had it again much worse over Christmas as the first case was mild so they can get it twice.
Don't know how effective the Vaccine is so can't comment on that.

My dd2 has been covered in a rash since Friday, looks awful but G.P said it's viral (did rule out measles and rubella).
Hope he's better soon!

That book looks fab - might order it (thus guaranteeing I never need to use it...).

What kind of rash, Angeliz? Is it chicken pox-like? Is your daughter off school 'cause it's contagious?

What mine Cod? TBH, i'm not worried as she's o.k 'in herself' it's just an awful rash.
I'm suprised the G.P's don't hand out that book at Birth, would save them a fortuneGrin
