a foam wedge.
dd has cf and her physio keeps promising to get me one to help do physio as shes now too big for laying on my knees/legs.but she keeps saying that theres one on order, but everytime she visits, its still on order (has been ordered now since august last year)
im getting fed up of fighting to keep dd on me whilst doing physio,so if i can buy one myself i will do!
so does anyone know where i can get one?

How old is she? Would something like a \link{http://www.mothercare.com/invt/ln8056&bklist=icat,4,,shomaternity,matessentials\pregnancy pillow} be any use until the physio can get one for you?

Or if you need a bigger one, what about something like \link{http://www.youreableshop.co.uk/modules/shop/products.asp?catid=26&rangeid=62&gclid=CK3k3e-7_4MCFQpOEQodDV4qfA\this}?

There are places that will cut foam to order-this may be the ticket.
Try upholsterers or 'foam bedding' in yellow pages.

If it needs to be pretty big then the pregnancy one probably wouldn't do it. The second one would, or as moondog says if you know the kind of size and angle you'd need, you can get a piece cut.

thanks both of you.i'll work out how big i need it.it needs some sort of waterproof cover,so maybe a piece of foam would be better as i can make a cover for it.

I have just spoken to dh's cousin, who has three boys with CF. She says that what you want is sometimes called a tipping pillow, but they're quite hard to get hold of unless you can track down a specialist physiotherapy supplier. Until she got one through the physio, she used to lie her ds1 on a cot mattress which she propped up at one end with a couple of ordinary pillows. She has also improvised with a rubber ring (the swimming type). She had some foam wedges cut as well but can't remember how big they had to be as her children are teenagers now.

thanks WWB.cant imagine how hard it must have been for your dh's cousin,i find it hard with just one with cf!
dh is going to go see our local carpet man tomorrow.(he does mattresses aswell!)and hes going to ask him if he can get hold of one.
im just fed up of waiting for the physio.dd isnt getting a great effect from my struggling to keep her on my knees!
