Acupuncture - anyone tried it?

Thinking of trying acupuncture for backache and low energy levels - has anyone had any sucess with this?

OH YESSS!!!!

I had it every week for about 3 years and then on and off for another 3, ok I that doesn't sound so promising but my acutpunturist was so lovely I wanted to see her every week But I can't afford it anymore given the amount I would need to go.

It stopped my menorrhagia, helped my skin, stopped my morning sickness being so bad. All of which have been worse since stopping acupunture.

I once applied to Acupunture college, but I couldn't get the funding together for the 3 year course...one day.

Where are you, I could get some recommendations for you if you like.

Yes, it's brilliant! Although it's expensive, (£30.00) session, I went for major stress, depression etc and had about 6/7 sessions. It really worked and I even managed to get my doubting Dh to go, as he was stressed out too! He came home and slept for an hour and then went back for two more sessions! Go, if you can afford it-it's great!

I find it fantastic ScoobyI go on a regular basis, along with Cranio-SacroTherapyI also take herbs. You need to find someone wonderful, this makes all of the difference. You will love it and I am sure it will make a big difference for you. All the best!

Oooh this is great to hear. My doctor has referred me for acupuncture for my pregnancy backache so I'm hoping it will work and have all these other positive benefits (my skin is just awful since I got pregnant).

Pie, I have taken the plunge and had my first session - not sure if the guy I chose is on your list? The Shizen Clinic?
Having the treatment was fine but I haven't really noticed much improvement after 1 session - my chinese doctor says 4 to 7 sessions are typically what is needed. Have booked another session for a weeks time so fingers crossed.
The acupuncture doctor advised me to go ahead with my planned first chiropractor session as well, so I guess that acupuncture is not a total cure-all for backs.
I'm looking forward to great skin and high energy for 2004! I will keep posting to let you know if it works for me!

Acupuncture cures my sinusitis AND stopped my pregnancy heartburn. It's utterly fab.

Hi scooby, everyone I emailed is either away or doesn't know anyone in Cambridge, but it sounds like you're happy with the one you found anyway, so happy acupunturing!!!

I'm off for session number 2 today, but don't seem to have noticed any benefits from session 1. I am unsure how many sessions to go for if I am not seeing any results!
