Ds sometimes has really pale stools...

I was just wondering if i should worry about my ds as sometimes he has very pale stools in his nappy. Today hes passed too really pale, smelly poos and ive heard this could be a sign of something to do with his kidneys.

Hes only 16mths and isnt the best eater in the world. If its just a question of diet should he be having more iron riched foods. I obviuosly try and give him alot of fruit, veg and bread, pasta etc but he doesnt always eat so its hard trying to give him a varied diet.

It sounds as if he could have dietary problems - maybe he's allergic to something?

Often a sign of lots of dairy in the diet. My dd used to have this when she drank lots of milk. Its not a problem, just nature!

nothing conclusive from me im afraid, just anecdotal blurb..but like you i was always suspicious of my son's pale oatmeal/concrete poo...and always thought it must be something really sinister...

however after what seemed like an age i discoverd that when he was teething or a bit poorly...possibly even symtom free then he'd do pale poo for a couple of days.

Phew ds has been drinking lots of milk lately as hes been teething and so not wanting to eat alot. Just reading similar threads and was beginning to panic as things live coliac and liver porblems were coming up as possible reasons. Beginning to think that i was a bad mother for not worrying about it in the past.

awww, no no i wouldn't jump to such worrying conclusions if i were you! Smile.

Definitely if hes not been eating but filling up on milk that'll be the cause i'm sure.
