And I got 10 minutes sleep last night because of it. I haven't slept well for ages because she always feeds to sleep, then wakes as soon as I put her down and likes to lie on top of me all night so I can't sleep because she's on my chest so I can't breathe, or lying on my arms giving pins and needles or on my bladder so I need a wee. I know this sounds awful going on about how dreadful I feel when she's the one who's poorly but I can't take another night like last night.

She is 2 and I also have a 1 year old to look after and I am afraid of dropping one of them because I am just so exhausted.

When the croup is bad I take her into a steamy bathroom. Any other ideas?

open the window and let her take some breaths of fresh, cold, night air

is it the 2 yr old who is sleeping on top of you? can't you chuck her off and put her next to you?

dd4 had croup before Xmas, has she been given steriod treatment? K had 2 doses and it really helped Smile Second what fox says about cold air. We were told a walk in cold windy weather was ggod as long as they are wrapped up. The windy cold air kind of gets into the lungs better than moist air and helps as much as steamy rooms.

Third the cold air, also dampen down the soft furnishings in her room,or yours, wherever she is sleeping,a fine mist spray iof water on the curtians etc helps as it dries it moistens the air,as does wet washing on the radiators.Alos give some calpol or silmiliar to help keep on top of any brewing temp,as a raised temp makes croup worse.
