Ouch.

Put it up. Take maxdose of iboprofen (unless it's counterindicated for you? I think asthmatics are meant to avoid it).

Is it bent? If not, it's probably not worth going to A+E over. Tape it to the next biggest toe, and just ignore it, as much as you can.

Meant to add, I heard a loud crack as it hit the doorframe.

Ohh, I did that to my little toe when I was a teenager, it does hurt like mad. My dad strapped it to the next toe for me and it was a lot less painful once it was stabilised, but I still couldn't wear closed shoes very comfortably (it was summertime when I did it so I wore sandals).

Do you have a pair of sandals that you can open right up (with buckles/treking type)? You could wear them with a pair of socks, ugly I know but better than the pain.

I've done the same (well except I hurt mine when I fell over many xmas eves ago) Grin. Nothing you can do except strap it to next one and take ibuprofen. Put some frozen peas on it to reduce the swelling too perhaps. Smile

If you take maxdose of iboprofen, every day, for a few days, sleep with the foot raised (put a pillow, or several, under it), and keep it up as much as possible otherwise, it should help it heal faster. Oh, and rest it as much as you can (ha ha ha).
