Ow ow ow, best way to treat blisters?

I took my DD for a long walk yesterday, which was fine til my shoes started rubbing on the way home. The last few streets home almost killed me, I ended up walking on just the ball of my foot to stop the pain! (Would have took my shoes off but path not smooth plus peeing it down with rain).
I thought I'd just got normal blisters but they monsters! On one foot the blister (no fluid) is fairly small, on the other foot it's right the way across the back of the ankle. No fluid in this either, though it is weeping. It's really painful and I'm struggling to walk and the stairs are really hurting!
Any ideas on the best way to treat them? Go get plasters? I've bathed them in warm water twice already but no use.

second skin (compeed) from the chemist.
If the blister is partially burst we usually remove all of it as underneath although sterile whilst in tact becomes a festering ground for bacterial once burst. With that in mind,
We ususally take off all the blister we can and put vaseline round the outside, as the skin going hard can be very painful.
If you cant get second skin I would conver the whole thing with vaseline something antiseptic on a non stick dressing and a breathable plaster.

Second skin, or any sort of wet plaster, there are loads of them out there, and they all work really well. They work fine on open blisters.
