How old is your dd?

I find chickenpox is better caught earlier, as long as the child is over one. It seems to be more severe, the later you get it.

infectious till spots crust over. check out the nhs direct website. lots of info there.
why not let dd get it too they can console each other?

If he has already been arond your dd before you realised he had it then she will have been exsposed already.

Is she generally healthy? I might still be tempted to let her get it, if she's generally fine.

If she's breastfed, and you're immune to cp, then she might well not catch it anyway.

Oh, yes, and what nutcracker says - you're most contagious before the spots come up, anyway.

dd didn't get it when she was first exposed to chicken pox - she was still bf.

However she did get it later and it was a pain as I was back at owrk then and we had to take turns to stay home with her till she was not infectious anymore!

Oh and then 2 weeks later ds got it - however he was still bf at the time!

If she is generally in good health and you have nothing important planned then I would let him see her, and would actually hope that she catches it,

A good friend of mines little boy has chicken pox, I would love to go around to see them but we are off to Centreparcs next week, and probably wouldnt be able to go with a child with chickenpox. Thats the only reason we are avoiding them.

Your poor dp. I had CP as an adult. Expect him to be feeling very rough for quite a while.

turns out its not chickenpox after all. its some sort of viral infection and its only contagious for 3 days!!
still spotty though!!
