He has not eaten since Wednesday evening, apart from a couple of chips and a few mouthfuls of his Birthday cake yeaterday, I assume he has this flu going around, though he does'nt seem poorly enough for that IYKWIM. He is naturally very thin and seems to be fading in front of my eyes, his eyes also look like they have sunk in slightly, so is a trip to the gp necessary or am I worrying too much about his lack of appetite. He is 5 BTW.

I agree with Twiglett, as long as he is taking fluids, I wouldn't worry.
If it goes on for too long though, I would definately contact your GP. Has he been sick or anything?

I would just keep an eye on him, but if you are really worried, I would call G-Docs just to be sure.

Ds perked up Sunday, and started eating again, though only a little, I suppose he needs to build his appetite back up, anyway Monday he was fine, just a little tired but insisted he wanted to go to school, so he went, anyway when I picked him up he looked exhausted, got him home and he fell asleep within 10 minutes.............it is now 18 hours later and apart from waking twice for a drink, he is still asleep, and also is ill again, now I feel guilty for taking him to school, as he obviously was'nt ready I am now waiting for the doctor to come and visit him.

My ds1 (8yrs) was like this last week. He normally loves his food but no matter what i offered him he just wasn't interested. He had a bit of a cough but none of the lethargy or other symptoms that seem to be going around at the moment. I ws getting worried especially when he turned down Macdonalds!. Then suddenly on Saturday, after 4 days not eating, he woke up wanting toast. He had 4 slices but then nothing until tea time. Since then though he seems back to normal. He's gone to school today so I am hoping that he is over whatever he had and doesnt pick anything else up!

Hope your ds soon gets better waterfall.

ds had sickness and d for 4 or 5 days. also got v. thin and bones sticking out everywhere!
Picked right up at end of day 5 - but took a couple of days resting at home before going back to nursery. 1st day back and he was almost asleep in their laps by 11.00am.

Could you try dyralite? You buy it in sachets from the chemist and it's a glucose and vitamin supplement drink you just add to water. It will keep up his energy and fluids. They give it to children with diarrhoea and athletes to restore energy. Ask your chemist. Comes in fruit flavours.

Yes he has given him some antib's. I do have dyralite, but he wont touch it, but he is drinking about a pint of milk a day as well as lots of water, so he is getting a few calories.
