Could well be. It's coming out as so many different things in different people. We had a bad cold for 10 days, then DS1 came down with been sick, just once over one night. For four days afterward he had a high temp and slept lots through the day as well as 12+ hours at night.

In DH and me though, we just got terrible sickness and upset tunmmy (severely). So much so we had to get the inlaws round to look after the kids on Saturday as we couldn't stay awake. Oh and instead of temperatures we got the shivers!

Sorry to hear your DD is poorly and I hope she gets better soon. We got over ours in 48hrs.

Hi JARM it took us by surprise, we'd already had a terrible cold for a week /10 days beforehand!

Even more surprising is the terrible chesty cough we've been left with after being sick!

Hope you're better soon!

I was wondering where we picked it up from. DS1 does go to nursery and I was all for blaming that! I suppose it could've been airborne as well seeing as the whole country seems to have it.

The gastric thing was awful, I just hope we never get anything like that again! I'm sorry to hear you're suffering. My back and tummy ached from being sick. The only positive is that i've lost 4lbs! I'm feeling a bit sensitive about eating now, so hopefully it won't go back on!

ive already lost 10lbs in 2 weeks (prior to sicky bit taking effect), havent eaten since saturday, cant stomach the thought tbh.

tummy and back pain - oh yes! I have no idea where i have got it from either.... especially as the others seem to be fine. Becky has a bit of an upset tummy, but getting her checked out today because she is only 15 weeks old so scared she will dehydrate or whatever!

sleep sleep and sleep is all i have done, feel a bit more awake today than i have for days.

it better be gone by sunday - Becky's christening!

Oh poor you! I can understand your worries about Becky, Babytuks is only 7 months and has gone right off his solids. He just wants to sup breast milk all day!

Have you got some Diaralite (sp?) That can be given to infants. I hope it doesn't come to that.

I'm hoping you'll all be well for Sunday!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 07/02/2006 09:56

i hope docs will just check her over and say she will be ok, but she has cut her feeds from 6oz 6 times a day to 3-4oz 4 times a day!

better go and get ready (not washed or dressed yet), docs at 11am!

Haven't had the sickness but both DS and I have horrible tickly cough and DS didn't stop coughing for 4 hours last night and had a high temperature too so have took the day off work and we are both at home.

Roll on springtime!! Hate winter with awful bugs although (touch wood) we haven't had the vomiting bug around here.

JARM. Hope it goes well, please let us know that you all get better in time for Sunday!

CD I hate to be the pesimist (sp?) but we all started with as tickly cough and runny nose. I'm really hoping you don't get sick with it. I tell you what.. My DS1 (2y/o) just stopped eating, and he was only sick once, when we made him eat something "to feel better" Me and DH ignored that icky, can't put my finger on it type feeling, ate away and boy did we pay! So what I'm trying to say is, if you go off your food its for a good reason! Follow your instincts!

Hoping you don't get it! x

My dd is ill today. She has had a very mild cold for about a week and it is now at the cough stage (but very mild again).

Then yesterday, her appetite went down and she fell asleep at 6 pm and slept through to 8:15 this morning. She was very flushed all morning but no temperature. No appetite either. She has just gone to bed again (5:50) having had a quick little dinner and bath after I found her going to sleep again on the sofa at about 5:15. She is soooo not herself and yet no symptoms to speak of except the tiredness and lack of appetite. It is very odd.

Does it sound familiar to anyone?

LM - sounds like the start hun...

Ive got the chest infection too - antibiotics for me, and Becky has been given Diaralyte but docs not too worried about her.

Feel a lot better after sleeping this afternoon, but still so tired, and my chest is so sore.

Roll on kids bedtime!

Oh God me too Aimsmum and hope you and JARM and anyone else with it feels better soon. I haven't heard of anything going around locally and just wondered if people who are low with one bug and simply picking up another?

with it being so close to half term, you would think that they would close the schools. I know that that sounds a bit drastic, but our local school had appx 300children off with it last week

dd has exactly the same symptoms as yours Enid

The other day she slept from lunchtime until about 7 the next morning She did wake intermittently, talking gibberish and drinking water though. The cough really kicked in yesterday.

Have a look at the Health Protection Agency's press statement re Influenza B

My dd seems better today. She started a bit of a temperature in bed last night but it had gone again this morning and, although she isn't eating much, she is much brighter today.

Just took ds3 to playgroup and there were 2 other children from dd's school there dropping off younger brothers, so there is obfiously something going round but, fingers crossed, maybe not too severe.
