If this is middle pain or mid month pain then how long should it last?

Hello, my cycle is 29 days approx, this month for the last week I have had crampy stretchy pains either side of my lower abdominal. They either on one side or on both sides at the same time. I've been doing a bit of reading up online and it sounds like it could be mid cycle pain. Most stuff I read on this said it lasts about 3 days. I've had it probably over a week now and some parts of the day its really painful especially when I suddenly move. I went to my gp today and he did not have much to say about it. Do you have it last this long? This has never happened before. I am also due on the beg of Feb so this is not really mid month? I'd be interested to hear what you all think. We also had sex three times using the withdrawl method around my time of ovulation but even if I was pregnant I surely would not feel stretchy pain so soon?

Hello
These pains have been here over a week and since last night they have turned to sharp needly ones... strange. My gp did not seem concerned. I just wish I knew what was going on. I would love to hear if anyone here experienced the same thing and found out what it was. I am booked for a hormone blood test in feb

How old are you? I'm early forties and that happened a couple of months ago. One or both sides and quite painful for over a week mid cycle.

I get mid-cycle pains - according to my lovely GP they are known as Mittelschmertz or something like that. In my case they are always in the middle and in my right side, just inside my right hip. They start on approx day 14 of my 28-ish-day cycle, and some months they last for a few days whereas some months they last right up until just before my period starts Sad It's a right pain in the arse, frankly!

OP, you have my sympathies. My GP said that I could go back on the Pill, which would suppress ovulation, but I've decided to tough it out ...

I'm early 30's, my periods have also turned really light and stop during the cycle since spring, I've had endometriosis before but the pains with that were usually one side and shootin down to my groin. These are different. I'm quite bloated too. sound a right mess ;)

Worried I maybe early menopausal so gp sending me for hormone tests as I am moody all the time!

Never had this before so its weird and annoying! I can handle it but sometimes it stops me in my tracks and I had shooting pains down my leg from my bum yesterday like a trapped nerve feeling. I use to get that late stages of pregnancy.

I get that shooting pains thing and it has been confirmed as ovulation pains (I've had a scan so no cyst/tumour thank the lord) - although I've only been getting this since my 39th birthday so I think it may be a peri menopause thing ...

Missgreedy I came onto the Health board to post and just saw your thread. Yes I get these too and they are getting worse with age. Dammit if men went through this shit wrt periods and hormones scientists would have discovered a cure years ago!!!

Have you still got your appendix?

I get ovulation pain, a few hours of a dull ache and then a sharp stabby pain lasting a couple of minutes. I get a migraine the day before though, just to let me know it's on the way.

I get ovulation pains. For me they start towards the end of my period and then come and go, gettign stronger, until I ovulate. For me they are either side, sort of at the corners of where my pubic hair would be if I hadn't had it lasered away! I've always had them since I was a teen. I do feel them more now. I am not sure if it is because they are getting stronger or because I am ttc.

Any chance you could be pg and these are implantation pains?

I get a mid month pain. Its stopped me dead in the street and literally taken my breath away, in the past.

I'm glad I'm not alone.

Hi I also get these I can only describe it as being stabbed from the inside out and take cerezzette now as I used to vomit and or pass out from the pain and anaemia. I had to come off it recently for test's and the last 7 weeks have been awful am staying on the pill till I get a hysterectomy
It is only on my left side and as I have endo on my bowel and fibroid [2 which are a centimetre and 2.5 centimetre] it was not taken seriously for ages.
I am 33 now and have it about 10 yrs but they will not do anything in case I want more DC

canyou - i think i may endo on my bowel, i had some lazored off but not sure where as waiting for follow up app. but i can feel like a tennis ball tucked under my rib. i asked my gp if that could be endo inside my intestine or bowel and he said maybe. it does not hurt but i can feel it all time. scan has ruled out gallstones there and i have no pain with it. what did they do with yours and how did t hey diagnose it? can a gynae spot it or does it have to be a different specialist as its higher up?
