Im going to go and see the dr about this, but not for a few weeks yet.
Have started having really bad night sweats, to the point im waking up several times a night, dripping wet and having to change bedding and bedwear. It started about 3 months ago but now seems to be getting worse Im pretty certain its not to do with temperature as I never really heat my house(unless its like -3 or something). Its driving me potty as Im having to get up and bath/rewash hair as i stink and am soaking in the mornings-thats alongside singlehandedly getting two boys and a toddler up and off to school! I dont take any meds other than lostrin20(contraception) and im only 27
Anyone had any experience of this?

Without wanting to alarm you, you need to go and see your GP sooner rather than later. Please don't wait a few weeks.
Could be absolutly nothing but it can be a symptom of a number of nasty conditions so please see your doc to rule out anything nasty.

eek. drs are a nightmare at present, have never had to wait as long for an appointment as this before, but I will phone and see if they have any cancellations.

Yes. Was pneumonia first time. (wasn't even aware I had a cough )
Second time was breast feeding related.
Third time I had I diagnosed glandular fever. Felt fine by fat. Crap at night.

Well Im pretty sure by the symptoms its none of the above[phew]. Hopefully its anxiety or stress or something.

Hopefully it is just stress but please don't leave it because you don't think it's pneumonia.
I don't want to alarm you but it's a very big red flag for certain cancers as my mum has recently found out. Get yourself an emergency appt at the doctors asap. Highly unlikely to be anything as serious but best to rule these things out.

Have you changed your contraception method recently (ie; were you previously on a higher estrogen pill? Or perhaps stopped breastfeeding?) Hormonal fluctuations can cause night sweats (just like menopause).
Hope you get it sorted. I had that after all three of my DCs...it's awful.

Not that spring to mind, generally I feel well. Was planning on asking dr about verruccas which are spreading despite being zapped, a possible fungal nail infection and this sweating
Have just got over a short lived cold over new yr so little bit tired and glands in neck still feel a little tender but other than that I feel well enough. Its more of a pain in the neck than anything else, I dont really have time to have a bath in the morning, but I cant not have one as I wake up soaked from head to toe.

God that all sounds pretty gross, sorry

are you on any regular meds that could cause this as a side effect?
I don't want to alarm you but night sweats can be a symptom of leukemia. Veruccas coming back could also be a sign of weakened immune system (although obv. it's common and can be nothing sinister).
You need to get an emergency appointment, just to be on the safe side.

Are you on anti-depressants? Mine cause me to over sweat in the night. I can't wear my lovely pyjamas because they get soaked!
I know that it is the cause as I had a brief spell without the tablets and it stopped, now I'm back on them and it's happening again!

this is worrying me now, i've had the same thing for the past 3 months. i had the depo 3months ago so was assuming/hoping it was that. i mentioned it to a gp and she didn't seem to think it was a problem.
how is it breastfeeding related? my baby is 11 months and i never had this with my other 2 babies.
trying not to google now before i go to bed!

They says hormonal.
This issue was how I first found mumsnet in 2003.
I thought I was peri-menopausal when this happened to me a while back. We were camping, everyone was freezing and I was lying on top of sleeping bag in a hot sweat etc! Turned out for me it was related to a nerve problem which has since settled, but I lost all temp control for some time.

See your gp urgently as others have said.
I had this once an it turned out to be Hoskins lymphoma. The chances of this are very rare but you have had this for 3 months now so I really would get this checked.
Ask your gp to test your blood - specifically your ESR levels
Good look x

I had this after having DD3. I had under active thyroid before and during pregnancy increased dose, once had DD dose was too high and I became hyperthyroid, over active thyroid. Could be thyroid related, but I am sure GP will do full bloods to check this and others. Good luck.
How did it go stars? Did you manage to get a GP appt?
