Xenicl works by stopping the absorption of Fat.

If you take it will work as long as you also eat a low fat diet. If you do eat fatty food you will get horrible side effects of 'oily stools and possible leakage' My brother took some then ate a load of Camenbert - truly a horrible effect.

that said when he took it and complied with the diet the pounds dropped off.

Good luck!!

Haven't tried them myself(although I probably should!),but my mum has lost 3 stone on it and a friend of mine also takes Xenical and is losing weight.
Like Elastamum said though the side effects can be awful-my mum had some ice cream while taking it,and couldn't get to the loo in time.
You really have to watch what you eat,or you'll have a dodgy tummy so it's not as easy as it sounds!
Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Dreadful stuff. I wasn't given any dietary advice when I was on it, so just continued to eat normally (which was a reasonably healthy diet in the main, but did include lunch from a works canteen, which would sometimes include higher fat stuff).

Side effects were awful - 'anal leakage' is really not pleasant! .

Also didn't lose any weight at all whilst on it. My doc said that that's rare, but does happen occasionally.

Hope it works better for you!

Thank you-am going to ring the dietary advice line that comes with the pills-I'm eating a much lower fat diet than I used to anyway and if you know that you are going to indulge in fatty foods you just don't take them!

Am scared shitless,(xcuse pun),to start them in case I also have possible leakage problems!

YUK!!!
