Mini Pill: How long after stopping should I have started a period?

Does anyone know how long after stopping the mini pill I should have started my period?

I came off 6 weeks ago as I was suffering from dreadful bad moods. Was on it for 6 months, having been on normal pill for 2 years before that.

I haven't come on yet.

Also been getting horrible pains in my abdomen, and these are very bad when having sex.

Any ideas?

Is there any chance you could be pregnant?

I did a pregnancy test a couple of weeks ago nd was negative. Been using condoms but forgot a couple of times to begin with although remembered soon after we began so should have been ok.

I hope to God I'm not.

Its quite common for periods not to return in any particular fashin for some months after stopping the mini pill esp, as in some women it can stop ovulation.

You should get the painful sex bit sorted though you could have an infection or something. Don't mean to alarm but its probably best to get some swabs done and for GP to examine you.

Laylasmum - that makes sense - I had not periods at all whilst on it. Don't think it's an infection as it's not sore as such. It's a horrible pain when dh pentrates me right inside. Might sound silly, but feels like something has moved into the wrong place.
