ds has had a rash on his back for the last few days but couldn't go doctors until it opened today. Didn't go hospital as he hasn't been unwell at all or sick or temperature. Went doctors today as it wasn't open at the weekend. The doc said it is a meningitis rash! just been to hospital for emergency blood tests and gotta go back to doctors on Wednesday unless he gets unwell before then.
Im sick to death with worry now. Dont know what to do with myself. The blood test was horrible. He screamed and cried but he was very brave. He's only 8 months. He had to have it in his arm like adults.

You poor thing, this must be horrible. I'm sure if they were really worried about him though, they would be doing something right now? Will keep my fingers crossed for you and wish your ds better soon .

i'm sure it cant be-that rash is supposed to be caused by septicaemia and theres no way you could have that with no symptoms.Hope it all turns out ok.

I feel for you - I would be worried sick too, it's only natural. Hopefully he'll be fine - it's horrible seeing them in any sort of discomfort at all though.
thinking of you - let us know what happens on wednesday, and be brave!

My DD had that type of bleeding under the skin rash, and it turned out to be something called ITP (Idiopathic Thrombocytopaenic Purpura) caused by low platelets. It's a nightmare, waiting for results and wondering what it could be-- my heart really goes out to you. Let us know how things develop.

My ds had a rash that looked alarmingly like a meningitis rash but actually turned out to be where Dp had been tickling him to hard on the tops of his legs.

Hope you get to know whats wrong soon juicychops.
