On the low side of healthy but not specially low. (I used to get about 110/60 throughout pregnancy and on one memorable non-pg occasion got 90/40 and the GP didn't seem concerned )

A little bit low but certainly nothing to worry about.

I obviously dont suffer from pregnancy but usually have about that figure - blood pressure that is, and am very fit and healthyish.

my PG blood pressure was usually around 70/40 which is low.

I have no idea what mine is normally.

Piece about low blood pressure from the Blood Pressure Association (I never knew there was one!)

emma, that is very low, have you had it measured recently?

I had it checked whe I joined the Gym in april.
I think it was about 90/60 then but my memory fails me. Certainly wasn't anything in the 100's

I did freak a few GP's/MW's out when PG which was quite amusing. I lost count of how many time I had to point out the it was low throughout the pregnancy with a "Look at my notes...Look just here....where it shows all mt BP results since I was about 8 weeks" comment. It never caused me any physical problems except when I was 7 weeks PG with DS2 and I fainted in Barclays bank but that was the one and only thing that happened.

According to my elderly but super fit uncle it's a family thing and on the paternal side of my family it very normal.
I just like to think I'm supremely fit which isn't the case as the gym membership has been cancelled

mine is generally 100/60 which is on the low side, but look at it that way... we grow older and don'thave to worry about strokes so much.

Had same 'problems' as LTH during pregnancy as especially trainee midwifes and nurses didn't believe their instruments LOL

It's normal. 'Textbook' healthy 21 yr old BP is 120/80 but yours is normal. Mine's about 100/55 - had it done last week. On the low side of normal but normal iyswim!

i have low bp too.... generally 100/50 so when it soared to 145/80 a few months back, guess who ended up on the AAU only to be told its normal, if a bit high for me!

BP is ALWAYS 100/50 or 100/60 at MW appointments and other than being knackered a lot, aint doing me any harm!

Low side of normal, but way, way, way better than it being too high! I had hbp prior to getting pregnant, always around 140/80 ish even with medication. At the minute (33 weeks pg) it's 120/70. MW says pregnancy must suit me....yeah, right

Not read all the replies, but mine is 90/50, went up to 100/50 near the end. I have to be careful I don't stand up too quickly because everything goes black!

whoops, that should read "near the end of my pregnancy"!

mine went down to 80/40 during labour and i was virtually unconscious, had a crash caesarean as a result because they thought my uterus had ruptured

mine is around 90 or 100/60. I have been told it is nothing to worry about and it is better that it is on the low side than on the high side.

Consider yourself lucky!!

Blimey, bundle....obviously my 70/40 was very low then. No wonder it shocked do many MW's etc

Report
bundle · 22/09/2005 15:42

ladytop, yup pretty low. thought i was going down a tunnel and i had buzzing in my ears. felt strangely calm though...

Report
RedZuleika · 22/09/2005 15:43

I'd say so! Mine went down to 90-something over 40-something in the middle of my pregnancy and I felt quite faint, had to be careful not to stand up too quickly etc. Also stopped driving for a while because I didn't feel safe.

Apart from that one fainting spell at 7 weeks I lead a completely normal life.

I have a photo of me when Pg with Ds3, 3 weeks to go, I was HUGE. I'm walking in the park with Ds2 sitting on my shoulders.
