DD1 banged her tooth with a fork.....

....and now it's wobbly. She's 4, so shouldn't start losing teeth yet. It's one of her front teeth at the bottom and she keeps playing with it in the hope that it falls out and she gets a visit from the tooth fairy.

So,do I need to do anything? Take her to the dentist? Is it likely to fall out or embed itself?

No pressure but my DD is standing beside me waiting for the er......flood of responses

My DD hit her top tooth when she was 3. It was a tiny bit loose but it seemed to reset itself after a couple of days. It is now discoloured and wonky but firmly in place.

I think she should leave it alone and see if it gets any looser. If she forces it out, it will probably bleed.

It might be ready to fall out. Loads of ds's friends teeth fell out in reception, they were 4.

I wouldn't play with it too much. If it is to come out it will on its own. If, on the other hand, it's not, you might end up with a tooth missing for a long time..... When I was 6 I knocked my front tooth out (on my bike...) and the new one didn't come out for a year.... not very good for a 6year-old's confidence....

4 is a bit young although I am sure it happens. I would just leave it coz its probably the gum which has become a bit loose after the knock and will hopefully tighten up again
