Airport meet and greet

We will need car parking at Manchester Airport for over 3 weeks in the summer and the Meet and greet service appears to be more affordable.
Just wondered if anyone had any experience of the service, do you have to wait a while for collection / return delivery?

No one can park near the airport arrival or departure areas, only to drop off and collect, and then you get moved on. You can't park and wait in a car for even a nano second near these areas. You'd need to speak to them about their arrangements.

Not at Manchester but we've used Meet&Greet services at Gatwick and Heathrow and its great. You call them when you're 10-15mins away from the airport for drop and they're usually there waiting to take the car away. On the way back you call them as soon as you get off the plane or while claiming your baggage back and by the time you get to the designated meeting point they're usually outside waiting with your car or just a few minutes away. Sometimes there can be a delay outside of their power if there is a lot of traffic congestion or problems on the roads around the airport but we've been lucky so far.

Its very convenient esp. with kids and all their luggage and hard to go back to parking your car by yourself after you've used this service.

I have a 20% off code for Purple Parking who do Meet & Greet, (used them at Heathrow) not sure if I'm allowed to post it here...!

Why not post it on the promotions and discounts thread

Ok I will go and find it!

I should have added that you should only use a reasonably recognised and reputable service - I think there have been some problems with people finding out that the secure lock up they thought their cars were being taken to was actually a tesco's car park or some such! angry Or that there were a lot of miles added to car because they were taken somewhere far away... so you do need to be careful.

I have used it at Heathrow. There was a special car-park that we went into and they come out, check the car, take your return flight details and take the keys.
On return they bring it back to that secure car park and you go to the desk and collect your keys. Easy! grin

I've used it at Gatwick and it is absolutely fantastic.

Kiwinyc - could I be cheeky and ask for your code please??? I'm just about to book the purple parking meet n greet for August!! Thanks!

And another vote here for meet n greet - it's fantastic!

they normally tell you how far they are taking your car. If you look around there are comparison services to find the cheapest. I've used it at gatwick, heathrow and stanstead with no problems. The place of pick up/delivery varies according to airport but we've always foudn them quite punctual and it's a great service.

Thanks for all the posts. Yes I have a code E43W for purple parking and the meet and greet is cheaper than long term parking for 3 weeks. I was just concerned that you could be waiting longer for them to collect and return than getting a shuttle bus but the reponses are positive so will give it a go.

Leslaki - Raisinbran has posted the Purple Parking Code above! ^^^^

Oh meant to say I used maple manor at Gatwick last year and they were fantastic. Phoned them up today to ask if they did heathrow - not yet they said but when i asked if they could recommend anyone else they said Purple parking. So hopefully should be just as good!

Used Manor Park at Gatwick, had to wait around for ages on return and when the car was returned the passenger footwell was soaking wet and all the radio pre-tunes had been changed.

We've used Purple Parking Meet & Greet at Heathrow (RAC members get a good discount!) and would definitely use it again - worth the extra £20 in our case to avoid the shuttle bus malarkey especially with the children.

I use Meteor Meet and Greet at Manchester regularly and they are great. You drive to the Terminal, you stop outside at drop off, you wait for the man with the clipboard and you sign and then he takes your car away, easy.

On your return you need to call them when you're in baggage reclaim. As Manchester airport was being refurbished we couldn't collect the car from where it usually would be, so you turn right at Boots and follow the corridor and they are waiting for you, car warmed up ,everything. (I book loads of Meteor for my guests.)
