I need some info on diverse and windows types

Hi
I am planning to go for UPVC windows.
I need some info on diverse types .
I was notified by contractor that Upvc windows always arrives with sliding kind.
In my opinion this type blocks one half the window for air circulation .
Is there other type in UPVC wherein we can open both the shutters.
