We have stayed twice [http://www.hostalgrau.com/en/el-nuevo-hostal-grau-por-que-un-cambio.html here]] just off the Ramblas. Nothing fancy but right in the centre of things and it seems to get good TripAdvisor reviews.

Bcn gotic apartments in the gothic quarter, we stayed last october and it was very good.Sorry can't do links.
