Thats my question! I can't stand center parcs- too big, too busy, and too shut in.
So, is there anywhere that offers activites (specifically a pool), great accomodation and lovely location other than just Bluestone..?

Clydey cottages? We stayed there last year for my mums 60th. It was fab. Pool, animals, soft play, magazines for mum, outdoor hot tub, brill rope swing, treatments, beautiful countryside. Not huge like bluestone but really lovely. Malcolm who does the animal feeding was amazing with the kids. Can you tell we liked it! My mum and sis + family went back 2 weeks ago and said it was just as good.

We stayed here at the Celtic Haven property with toddler and dog www.celtichaven.co.uk/ about 5 years ago. It's 10 mins outside Tenby and has a pool. It's a courtyard of converted barns and we thought it was lovely.

We went to Bluestone last summer as a last minute, and like you i was a little anxious as to what it would be like, but actually, we were pleasantly surprised. The location and lodges themselves were lovely, very comfortable and I would call them high end in terms of quality. The site itself is a little hilly so if you have very little ones or mobility problems, book a golf buggy to get you around the site, we didnt as we had our bikes with us but something to bear in mind. As far as activities,dc were 12 and 9 at the time and we found there were def more activities suitable for young children rather then older children but ds did the high ropes, laser attack and kayaking and enjoyed all of them. There is an indoor pool complex which we used only a couple of times as we were lucky with the weather so spent most of our time outdoors. The other advantage of Bluestone is that there are the most stunning beaches close by so we spent a fair time off the resort as the dc loved being on the beach. Its been many years since i've been to center parcs so i cant say i'm qualified to compare but I thought Bluestone was wonderful and would def go back.
