Italy in May/June half term - dodgy weather?

Had planned on Portofelice campsite near Venice at end of August, but have realised with all the bank hols we could fit in 10 days from 25th May. Much cheaper, but anyone been to Italy at that time of year? Warm and sunny enough for us? Various websites say average 70, but would rather hear from someone that's been before I book.

This year the bank holiday weekend has been moved to June to coincide with the Queen's diamond jubilee, so the bank holiday and half term starts w/c 4th June. I would think that the weather will be lovely at that time of year.

Well thanks for that - DH's half term is the first week of June, but according to my diary, the DCs school is 25th May till 3rd June. But you've made me wonder, now, so I think I'd better double check!

Hi,
We have been to Italy in May or June a few times - Northern, Southern, and also Lake Garda.
We went to Rimini in June many years ago, and had a day trip to Venice from there. Going by my holiday photos we had hot sunny weather every day.
We had a week of our honeymoon in Sorrento, in the south, and had some hot days and some cooler, so a mixed bag. A second holiday in Sorrento in June some years later was hot and sunny every day.
We went to Lake Garda in June a couple of years ago, and that was mixed as well - some hot, some cooler, and some rain.
You can't guarantee weather, but you would be unlucky if it was not hot and sunny at least some days.

Hi minx.
I live in northern Italy.
The weather can be unpredictable in May/june.
Last year for instance we had lovely weather (even as hot as 28 degrees) until the end of May and June it was crap (for italian standards, a bit wet and coldish)

Thank you ladies. It turns out I have an outdated list of term dates, and half term isn;t the end of May after all!! So we can't go to Italy for 10 days then! What a plank. Hoping to go end of August instead, when I'm failry hopeful it will be warm!

We went to lake Garda at the end of August last year. The weather was perfect - 30 degrees-ish every day.
