Hi,

I am still excited about my shiney new laptop - but the screen is a bit bright. I have worked out how the brightness is controlled with the Function key. Can (I am I likely to be able to) control other things like contrast and stuff like I can on my normal LCD monitor?

SMS - some laptops have contrast adjustment as a keyboard function, others don't - if yours doesn't, if you right click on the desk top & click properties you should get a dialogue box where you can change stuff. On mine, which has Intel graphics, the tab marked 'colour correction' allows you to change the settings you want.

Hmmm I think I found that when I was looking for it but it didn't seem to do anything.

The white just seems too white (I can't see the pale blue bars on MN for xample as there is no contrast with the white)

Hmm I have found the contrast settings....I have pushed the bar as far as it will go...better than it was but I still seem to have far more contrast on my PC

Have you got a setting marked Gamma? That changes the intensity of the pixels, so it affects the brightness of the screen.

Yup gamma is right on the end of the scale too. it is definately better than it was earlier and I am getting used to it.
