? HELP, I've been blocked from mumsnet ?

I have been on mn for the last few weeks with no problem. Suddenly on Tuesday this week I have been unable to get into the site from either of the two computers in our house. It was fine in the morning, then suddenly in the afternoon it says 'connection timed out'. I can access it at work and others' houses, just not from home.

My (slightly geeky) dh has shown me how to get in through a proxy website, but I wondered if anyone had come across this before or if you had any suggestions.

It is not the ISP as we've checked and they say they don't block sites.

Thank you very much.

There are a few possibilities.

Try www.mumsnet.com and mumsnet.com

If you have a router reboot it (if not sure how just turn it off and on again)

There is a way to tell whereabouts along the way it's getting stuck.

On XP go to the start menu. Click on Run and type CMD and press enter

it opens a DOS box where you can type this

tracert www.mumsnet.com

and after a moment will show you some lines like this:

1 70 ms 99 ms 99 ms BeBox.config [10.0.0.254]
2 * Request timed out.
3 * Request timed out.
4 18 ms 17 ms 18 ms 197.ge-1-3-2.mpr1.lhr2.uk.above.net [213.161.78.221]
5 48 ms 43 ms 17 ms highbury.dsc.net [213.161.73.140]

The first line will probably be the name of your router and the last the destination

highbury.dsc.net is mumsnet's hosting company so you can see it got there in my case in just a few steps and got a reply so I am not being blocked.

Thank you SO much, onagar, we tried the tracert before rebooting the router and it showed request timed out, and no access to highbury.dsc.net. Then rebooted the router and it got there (in about 9 steps). thank you very much , you are a star

No, sinkingfast, sorry, not Twiglett.
