DH has recently installed windows Vista and the keyboard is now different. So, for example I can't find the pound sign, I get # instead. Also my @ symbol is not where I would expect it to be. Now he's a techie type and can't seem to sort it for me

OK, all that has happened is that your language settings are different. Click on the Window icon in the bottom left, go into Control Panel.

Go into Regional and Language Options
Go to Keyboard Options
Change your keyboard layout to UK

Bingo!

Thanks to you both! All sorted now. I had already looked in there but there were a few UK options. Waited until DD came home and checked what her laptop was set to and changed mine to the same. I knew having DCs would come in handy one day
