help, something is attacking my pc, help right now anyone???

it all went weird, all i did was put a google search in with key words about how my pc is running slowly. I clicked on a help forumlink, and bingo, i am getting not help but absolute crap coming in. Saying you are under threat, download this bla bla bla. well i am tryingn to ignor eit, but now i am sure even this mumsnet page is not 'right'.

it's mentioned things (in those baloons) like w32myzor.fk @ af and spyware.cyberlog-x.

my agv resident shield thing is working like a mad monkey every minute or so tellingme to deal with trojans --zlob one is called.

i don't even know if this post wil come up. help!!! also have a new icon in my bottom bar thats teling me to download official security. i know its prob fake but it won't go away. ireally need help here, as this thing has also taken over my home page, and i cant afford to tak eit to the pc man

It sounds like a fake alert imo - which in itself gives you a virus if you click to download the stuff it tells you that you need

no the only thing i did was to search for probs with pc running slow. maybe the forum i found, had nothing to do with it. as pc was running slow before that 'click' hence me doing a search. dd has been on here all day almost [blus] but only on kid sites. i cannot aford to take this to the pc man. i feel like dumping it and buying a new pc. it's old and it can't get windows updates becuase this version of windows is a copy.

well i have two nice new icons in the bottom bit.

one is a yellow flashing tirangle with an exclamation mark in it, and a balloon saying system alert trojan-spy.win32@mx

the one next to it is a sheild shape flashing blue and red with a question mark in it and an 'x'

i really don't know what to do,or how much danger hte pc is in tbh.

You can download and install this and it will almost certainly sort it.

The home page thing can be put right by going to control-panel and double clicking internet options. You will see an option to make it blank for now

AVG may get part, but perhaps not all of it as it seems to download other programs once it gets in. The alert thing on the taskbar is part of it.

I'd let AVG do what it can and try spybot as it may be more suited.

ihvae only just mananged to get back to this page.

avg is asking me to heal all the trojans. they are in the vault.

when i closed all windows, the two icos are still inthe lower right hand, those ones i described.

there was this werid security programme that has now put it's site addy in my faves, and wil not go, nor go as a shortcut on my desktop.

Well it's all a bit messy. One of the things you still have may recreate the trojans which AVG will then find again. It probably also recreate the shortcuts etc so you can't get rid of them.

It does other things like set up scheduled tasks to run things or reboot the PC. It can alter the registry so that if you went to your bank (don't until this is sorted) it could redirect you to a fake site.

I'm hoping spybot will know to put all those things right. AVG will probably only deal with the obvious stuff.

it didn't go online this morning? i ran another spybot check this morning, turned off pc. have been phoning around today wondering abuot the cheapest way to afford a new tower. i have been advised to get another windows xp rather than vista. anyhow just came on here, and tried again to connect thru my orange broadband icon, and it's let me??

i can't connect form clicking the ie button, it just won't.

aremy personal dets still at risk i wonder? also i am not sure where the weird icon, down the bottomhas gone telling me to install some or other pc spyware prog.
