Perhaps RealPlayer supports the file format, and WMP does not.

I can't get WMP to play files from my Nokia Phone. Nokia supply their own player which works fine.

What filetype is the file?
What encoding is the file? (this is hard to establish, can use software like AVIcodec)

Can you open the files and 'save as' a .wmp file? Seem to remember one of the IT boys at work doing something like that for some footage I needed for a presentation.

MOV is usually Apple Quicktime.

If you don't want to use the Quicktime Player, or others that support it such as Real Player, then you could try installing Quicktime Alternative. Personally I've not used it, so don't know how well it works, but it is the only thing I can suggest.

Have read your post, cheers. Apple keeps reminding me to do something, and I do it, im wondering whether I have to OPEN it, not just download it...Failing that will go with your alternative, see what happens
