We'd like to get a PVR with twin tuner & built in Freeview but only want to do so if it will also be able to record Sky input whilst watching F/View or vice versa.

Don't want Sky+ for several reasons (unreliability, cost, storage capacity). I have 3 friends who have had endless trouble with Sky+ and none of them would recommend it. Figure for the £150 or so PVR would cost to get the extra capacity and most (80/90%) of the things I record are on terrestrial or Freeview channels, this solution would work for me in that respect.

Has anyone used a PVR with Sky or know enough about these things to say if it would work?

TIA (smile)

the system should work in principle.. however be aware that Sky encrypt the outputs from their boxes so that you wont be able to record premium content to an external device (you can buy some boxes to crack this)

Personally I tried all the above and got bored with it.. I now have a Sky+ HD box and very very happy.. loads of space and very reliable... also with the addition of a DVD writer it is possible to archive recorded content in a controlled fashion (where allowed)
