please help me i think my laptop has broken or is going to

right i have an advent laptop that i bought just over a year ago and about 6 months ago it did this wierd thing were it just kept saying when i switched it on that it was unable to start up and recommended launching start up repair, which i did but then it said it could not repair the computer and to contact manufacturer

which i did they told me to switch it on and immediately start pressing F8 i think it was and then go to resume somthing configuration and then it was fine afterwards

now everynow and then it does this and normally will just repair itself with start up repair

but yesterday it couldn't do that so i did what the maunfacturer had told me to do and it worked but it keeps coming up every time that it cannot start the computer everytime i switch it on but if i skip the recommended launch startup repair (which will not work anymore) and just select start windows normally it will work

i have done a virus scan and there were two malware virus's which i moved to virus chest as recommended by my avast antivirus and thought that that would have sorted it out but this morning it has come up again with the same message and i have had to skip launching start up repair as it just does not work

please please please help me i am not overly technical and do not have a clue what to do....and def can not afford to buy a new laptop if this one breaks

Dp thinks the windows is screwed
He said that he would boot it up,save all files ,bookmarks music etc,then do a factory restore.

He is asking have you made a restore disk?

thanks i can actually get into windows it's just every time i turn it on i have to got through all this rigmorole

not sure if it did actually come with the discs or not, but i have a load of blank discs so will copy all files and reinstall windows as suggested tomorrow or when i can dh into the loft to fetch them for me

i haven't made a restore disc but have made a recovery point or somethingnot sure how to that though

i did manage to some how lose all the pics which was really annoying as i do not think i did anything to actually lose them as i was n;t even using them and they are not in the recyle bin i wonder if they are on my back up restore thingy

You might find it useful to backup settings as well with the Files and Settings transfer Wizard (Google for more info).

Don't rely on it to backup everything. It doesn't.
