Anyone had the "constant rebooting" problem?

Yes, I've got it again. PC reboots at startup, not even letting me get to the Windows XP login screen.

I only managed to deal with it, as before, by doing a System Restore in safe mode.

Earlier in the week I had a Blue Screen telling me it was doing a disk-check, which took about 80 minutes.

I've been told by the chap who gave my PC a service a couple of months back that it could be a hardware or software clash issue. I regularly run Advanced Windows Care V2 and CleanUp! I've also got a ZoneAlarm firewall and Avira anti-virus, which work together with SuprAntiSpyware. Enough protection, one might think.

Anyone had it and found an effective way of dealing with it?

I've had this problem on the laptop, ever since I ran an update for ZA a couple of months ago. Don't have ZA on the PC and that's finebut I'm sure mine, is a problem with ZA, it seems to be conflicting with something.
If I uninstall ZA and do a clean install it seems to solve the problem for a month or so and then backto square one.

Interesting... the engineer didn't seem to think ZA was conflicting with anything. I had horrible bits of Norton left over which he was able to remove, so I'd assumed it was that.

When we had a problem with the PC the guy who fixed it said that ZA was one the programs that was causing the conflict, so he took it off and installed something else on it. He also got rid of Mcaffee, which he said, along with Norton was the 'greatest evil known to mankind', or words to that effect.

I know there definitely was a problem with one of ZAs updates because I was having problems getting it to run after the update and my FIL was having the same problems with the same update.
