When you change phone provider, do you have to let BT know or does the company you're switching to do it?

We're changing from BT to Orange (who already do our broadband) and they said they'd inform BT - mind you we haven't yet received the new equipment they were supposed to be sending

We've moved from BT to Virgin. I phoned BT to tell them & they already had all the details from Virgin - although that reminds me that I haven't had any kind of final bill from BT yet...

Yes, that's what I'm worried about, BT denying all knowledge, we're going to tiscali because just like RB, they do our Broadband anyway.

let them know it is safer... double billing is very common... they should be aware when your new provider gets the MAC number from them to migrate you line... sometimes the info does not go into the system correctly, they provide the number but never closeout your account on the migration date.,.

When you have a migration date from the new provider ring BT to make sure they are aware...

Ok, they've sent us an email to say they're testing the line. So when we go live, will give BT a call incase.
Can you tell I don't trust BT!
