what did you use to create the compilation??... to make something work on a DVD player it has to be formatted in a very specific way,,,

You cannot simply copy a file to a DVD and have it wotk.. (some DVD players are more advanced than others so this is not always the case)

Also the DVD model may not be able to read DVD-R disks.. some only read DVD+R's.. can you provide more information?

Something my dad had trouble with with his recorded DVDs was that he didn't "finalise" the disk. This meant the DVD player didn't recognise it as having something on it

[clueless]

as opinionateddad said - 'proper' DVDs have a very specific format. Take a look at the DVD on your computer and see if there's a VIDEO_TS folder that contains a bunch of files with endings like .info or .vob If there isn't then therein lies the problem. Need more info really though..

Weve got nero so ill have a go at that.

Opinionatedad. I used windows movie maker to create the movie and then saved it to a dvd. I used a minus disk and also played a minus disk in the dvd player to check if it recognised a mnus dvd which it did.

aaaaah.. there is your problem.. ths movie maker from M$ creates the output file in a format that died about 2 years ago.. very few DVD players will support this (Panasonic was the owner I believe)...

You will need to use and app like Nero or Pinnacle to create standard format DVD's
