I've an idea for a business venture but HELP - how do I go about setting up a website?

Ho do I get a web host and build a site? what sort of costs would I be looking at and how do I get it set up so I can take subscriptions get listed on google etc?

any sort of help please... TIA

Lots of info at www.businesslink.gov.uk/. They're really helpful too if you give them a ring and you can even have a one-to-one meeting with a business advisor and they can then recommend web designers, etc.

As for having a site listed in google: www.google.co.uk/webmasters/

Firstly, register your domain name. Get both the .co.uk and .com endings.

You need a web designer, some will also do the web hosting for you, and google listings, some will just design the website. Loads of companies provide hosting packages.

If you just want something simple, you can get whole packages from some hosts, including a template for designing your own website, I wouldn't recommend this as long term but it could be a start while you get your business up and running befopre you can afford the £1000s a web designer would cost.
