when you click in google search box and things you've looked for before beginning with that intial come up - how do you get rid of these so that children can't see what I've been looking for for their Christmas?

go to tools, options, click the content tab, and then auto complete button. then click clear forms.

Ity should say 'clear history' in the bottom right of the drop-down box. Click there.

If it doesn't , click on Tools, Internet Options, Delete History

if you have got the google toolbar on the top of your page, click on the arrow and scroll down the drop down menu to 'clear'

history doesn't clear what you enter on pages though.

it might be an idea to clear history too, if you do have snooping children!
