Got a new phone recently (Android/Google)
Had it just over two weeks.

I was looking through all the different bits and bobs on it this lunch this me and came across a Google schedule of where I'd been, how long I'd travelled it seems to have guessed my home and work place!!

How do I stop this - it's freaky

Go into settings (swipe down from the top of the screen) and select Location. Scroll down to the bottom of the location page and you should see "Location Services", select this option and then you can turn off Location History.

Ok thank you - I'll give this a go.

What exactly is the advantage of this? Other than to prove you were elsewhere if you got accused of a crime 😐!!

Apple iPhones do this too! Uses up battery too. So annoying.

The phone needs location services so it can tell you where the nearest garage/takeaway/hospital is.

The eye thing is to check if you're still looking at the screen because it's been idle, if it decides you're not it will close down to save energy
