If I buy a new laptop can I get my old purchased itunes on it?

Since a mobile phone repair (official under guarantee, nothing dodgy) my 8yr old laptop no longer recognises my phone. No downloads have worked or helped. I need the music for running to prevent depression so really need to sort it.

Anyway, the only solution I can think of is to buy a new laptop which will allow me to download the software to transfer songs to my phone. Is it easy to set up itunes on a new laptop? I'm thinking I should suck up the cost if it works.

While a new laptop would let you download all the music you have purchased through iTunes it's a bit of an extreme solution.

Is it a Windows or Mac laptop? If it's windows why not visit a local repair shop or PCWord? You may have a problem with the USB driver that can be fixed quite easily.

Can you not access iTunes direct from your phone?
