Need storage help with iphone 5c - bought extra storage for 79p per month - still can't download apps.....

I think if you buy storage it's only "Cloud" storage so it doesn't increase the availability on the actual device. I think deleting stuff is the only way to do it.

she has deleted all the photos and still can't download apps

I have about thirty apps and over 600 photos stored and it's fine - hers keeps saying no storage available despite me paying for it

milk is right, the extra storage you've bought is cloud storage - so useful for backups but not much else.

Re the deleted photos - has she gone into the 'deleted photos' album and permanently deleted them? Videos take up lots of space too.

Not in any way geeky minded but I had a similar problem with my iPad.
There is a deleted photos album in photos.
You have to delete all photos there too.

Go to settings and look at storage and see what is using the most space
It will give you an idea.
In the end I reset it. And started again

You can check in settings which apps are taking up the most space and delete as necessary, check that things like the pre-installed health app isn't tracking and storing loads of data too.

I know it's cloud storage which frees up space to download apps on the phone (or am I wrong about this?) but I don't get why it works on my phone and not hers?

Settings > general >storage and iCloud usage > manage storage

Tells you what is eating if all up.

Does she have a software/iOS update waiting? This can use up storage space - if you run the update then it frees it up

it says she has 48gb of storage free

but she takes a few photos and then she gets the no storage message - so it's not syncing with the cloud is it?

we both just ran the most recent update

our phones are identical but my accepted the upgrade of storage, hers didn't and I don't know how or why

annoying being iphone dense!
