Setting up a new email account and contacts etc.

Recently changed internet provider and kept my BT email account - was paying £1.60 a month for this. Have just had an email to say this is going up to £5 a month!! So...I need to set up with someone else.

I am so useless with this kind of stuff and get myself in a mess usually. I know how to set up a gmail account but how do I let all my contacts know I have changed my address?

Do I have to just do a group email and then go through all my other contacts such as banks, amazon, paypal etc and let me know my new address?

Please be gentle with me-I don't understand terms like POP or push mail - I wish I did

Yes, just email everyone with your new address and change it on all your accounts. If possible, keep your old email active for a month or two, as you are bound to have someone not change your details, or there will be a mailing list you've forgotten.
