Well, maybe not entirely accidentally Blush

I don't really need it. My friend has just got one and was describing it to me and I was overwhelmed with gadget envy. Oops Blush Grin

It's a PC, but weighs less than 500g. Essentially just the hard drive bit of it (no monitor etc). I'm planning on plugging it into our 4K TV via HDMI and using it as a little media centre and storing lots of downloads.

Weight makes it lovely and portable too. Better than my ancient laptop!

Grin Advice from my friend is to also get a large capacity high speed SD card for storing lots of unnecessary crap and just keep the os on the internal drive

I also accidentally added the wireless keyboard and mouse for an extra tenner to use it as an actual computer from the comfort of my sofa

See you make that sound awesome Lemon and now I want one. Even though I do not in any way need one because I can cast pretty much anything I want to the TV with the Chromecast that accidentally fell into my basket in Curry's last week... :o (and the no less than 6 compatible devices in the house, between me and DP. Dear god I have too much tech.)

I know.

Our TV that we only bought at Christmas is a smart TV so pretty much anything we want can come through that, but my laptop is about 8 years old now, so I convinced myself this was cheaper than a Surface a brilliant investment!

My smart tv is a few years old and the manufacturers are shit at updating them so half the apps don't work. The Chromecast has taken the frustration away so it was a good investment or that's what I said to DP anyway.

But Lemon...you are just going to regret not buying the surface as they are the work of the gods. I LOVE mine!

I helped my mum buy one a couple of months ago.

Gone are the days when she got my hand-me-downs Sad

I contemplated the stick, but also like the fact the mini PC has a SD slot. I also accidentally bought a 128gb SD card to expand the storage

It arrived this morning and I have been having fun setting it up Grin

I managed to out rank our IT manager this week and go straight to the boss to nail myself a surface for work, obviously I am client facing and NEED to look like I work for a technology company. All the developers keep walking past asking how my new laptop is through gritted teeth.

I do love a gadget
