Help! sent a message about another job from my work email..

I've been talking to another company about a new job, and obviously using my personal email and only from home. today (working from home) I didn't notice I was in my work email address when I sent a message to the other company about pay, hours, everything.. I am on my own computer but presumably it will go through my current company server, and technically could be retrieved by IT at some point if they were looking at my old emails later after/if I leave. Am I being paranoid or did I really fuck up?
You might say it wouldn't matter if I had already left, but it is a small industry and I would not like them to find evidence of me scheming to leave.
How difficult would it be for them to find this message?
thanks

Although most companies say they 'reserve the right to monitor email', that doesn't mean they check every single employee's inbox. They usually have a filter for swearwords/explicit language and would only check if something was flagged via that filter or if they had concerns about the employee's performance. I really wouldn't panic.

thanks very much. but they could find a message I had sent if they wanted to, not just one that had been sent to me?
I suppose it's a bit farfetched to imagine they would bother to trawl through all my emails after I had gone
I am on edge from feeling like I am sneaking around already!

They could if they wanted to, but it's very unlikely that they'd go through them just for fun.

" I didn't notice I was in my work email address "

Can you clarify work email address?

Did you send an email from Outlook using a work account
GMail when logged in using your work email address
A program or website provided by your company
GMail using your @gmail address but you picked you work address in the from section

In all but the last case (and not always that case) you email will have been sent via your work email servers.
