Possible to send an anonymous text to someone?

Nothing sinister I assure you. Ive cut contact with my mother after years of an unhealthy relationship between us. With it being mothers day tomorrow I want to text her (nothing malicious at all) but need it to be anonymous as if I use my own mobile she just abuses having my number by pestering me. Is it possible to send an anonymous text somehow?

Could you go to tesco and buy a sim card for a pound at tesco or sainsbury, add some credit and text. Then tskesim card out of phone and leave in drawer until u need the sim again. You can usually buy any network so you don't need an unlocked card and your credit should last until u have used it all up

I'm pretty sure there are websites where you can send a text to a mobile.

But although you say it's not malicious, won't it be distressing for your mother to receive communication from you and not be able to reply?

My mum would understand and it wouldnt distress her, she's caused me more distress in my lifetime I have therapy for it. I only want to tell her that despite everything I love her.

Http://www.cbfsms.com allows you to send one free text a day, totally anonymous. I used it all the time time when I was school and was up to no good. Giggle. Grin

Thanks. If I used the internet on my phone do you think it could be traced back to my number?

Can you send a card instead?

No, I think it's still an old clunky desktop site, not optimised for mobile anything. It could maybe possibly log your IP address but that's about it. I think.

You can send texts via the O2 website.

Obviously no number to reply to etc.

I can't remember if you need to login or anything but you could try

On your phone, go to settings>call settings>own number sending> use the cursor to select own number sending "off" It should then send the text as an 'unknown' number.

I thought that was just for making a call rather then sending a text allalone?

Well mine is a very ancient phone, so perhaps you are right Flipperty.

It must def be anonymous otherwise I would have to change my number yet again and I cant go through that again
