Best tablet for watching in the dark?

Hi - I'm hoping someone here can help, as reviews don't seem to cover this topic.

I enjoy using my iPad when lights are off at night, and the minimum display setting is still too bright. I've searched in the Apps Store but there's nothing which can further lower the brightness.

Are all tablets the same, or can some be dimmed to a comfortable level?
