Good cheap printer for intermittant use

I'm worried about the inks drying out if the printer is only used 2/3 times a term

Is there a nice solution or should she try & find somewhere to print out at college & not bother with a printer

If only going to print things once a month or so, then just use the college
repro graphics department (or ask a mate).

If needing a printer, then consider a mono laser. Brother, Samsung and Dell do wireless laser printers for around £100. If wireless is not needed, then they can be quite a bit cheaper, though these days consider what devices would be used to print from such as mobile/tablet.

Thanks Nick - I think finding somewhere to print out might be the best bet tbh

She may not even take the laptop with her, I'm not sure how much academic work they will do

If it's a college I assume they have printing facilities? I usually print at work! The ink at home seems to dry or run out far too quickly for me to bother.

I think staples has copy and print centres in the shops too.

Probably best to let her sort it out once there. As you say, there may or may not be much written work that requires printing. I would take laptop so is not stuck having to wait for time on shared usage computers. If necessary she could buy a printer once there (send her an Argos gift card!).

She is back most weekends so can take it if she needs it

Bloody expensive activity "getting ready for college"!
