Educational Apps for Android rather than Ipad?

Sorry if I'm not posting in the right place...I recently bought an android tablet so that I could get educational apps for my 6 year old (we live in France & I want to keep her interested in learning & using English - literacy, maths, etc). The Ipad was way out of my price range, but now I'm getting the impression that most of the educational apps that are recommended on teaching/learning websites are for Ipad...is this the case - that there's an education biais for ipad technology rather than android? I get the feeling this has been a bit of a false economy and I should have saved up for an ipad...!

Have you looked in the google play store? There are lots of educational apps- some are just android versions of the ipad ones.

I don't think for a minute that you wont get all the same stuff really, though it's possible that licenced charcters eg peppa pig might have " sold their soul" to apple ...

Actually in many ways it's the other way round, many education sites, such as Education City, Espresso and many maths sites use flash, which the iPad can't cope with...

Don't panic, there's tons of Android apps suitable for kids. A quick Google of 'best Android educational apps' will give you some good links to review sites, etc with a whole bunch of ideas.

I really can't see this at all. I recently switched from an iPhone to an android phone, where I used 100s of apps with 3 DC over the years, and am yet to find an app that you can't get on both.

as others have said, the android devices (have a tablet and a phone) are actually much more flexible as you can get round the flash problem that you have on Apple. Much better parental controls as well.

which apps do you use on iPad that you can't get on android?
