How do you clean a laptop keyboard?

It's got crumbs in it which are stopping some of the buttons from pressing down properly.

Am assuming I can't turn it upside down and shake because of the hard drive?

It's one of those keyboards which looks like the keys are floating. All of my previous ones have been the type you can prise off with a teaspoon, clean out the fluff and click back on, but I don't want to try that with this one.

I think you might have to take it to somewhere like PC world to get it cleaned, if you have to open it up because crumbs are inside it.

pair of nylon tights over the end of the dyson, and give it a good suck.

I don't think it needs opening up, hoover might work. Would be great if we had a hoover with a nozzle Grin

The question is, do you buy a new vacuum cleaner to save paying for laptop care or keep the cash to hand it in case the clean-up actually breaks the thing?

What about that silly putty stuff? I got a carton of it for DH one Christmas (I know, but in fairness, you should see what he gets me) and it is still unopened in a drawer here somewhere. if I find it, I could post it to you!

Well actually Blush the hoover gave me an idea and I chopped the ends off a cotton bud to make a tiny plastic tube and sucked. Got lots of crumbs in my mouth though, so stuck a bit of material over the end - perfect! Got a load of fluff out I didn't realise was in there too Grin

And I have just googled our hoover (included as part of furnished flat) and it is as old as me Shock

Brilliant! Bet you wish you had put a little bit of pop sock over the end of the cotton bud tube now! Grin (I'm gagging just thinking about it.)

second the compressed can air - it's so satisfying and gross seeing all the crumbs/cat fluff/god knows what getting pftttttted across the room! Grin

(don't know how much they are as dh erm borrowed one from work)

(also if you do get one don't shove the nozzle right in as the air has moisture to it and it can leave your keyboard wet and with strange white water marks on it Confused )
