Getting rid of Mystart (sneaky virus?)

When I opened Google this morning a page called Mystart seemed to have hijacked my homepage. I think I have got rid of it from my homepage as I deleted it from the settings. However I think it is still in my computer as if I click default, in homepage settings, it is there! I ran a AVG check but it is still there.
Any ideas? have to go out but will be back later.

Go to your control panel, click add/remove programmes and have a look in the list

If you run firefox, click tools then add-ons and remove it from the list

When my DS logged on it was there again, but I fiddled about a bit and it seems to have gone again. So annoying.

Slimjim, do you know why I often lose my net connection and have to reset it. I have to press the button on my netgear adaptor and then run downstairs and press the button on the router. usually this works but sometimes it doesn't. Then Ihave to leave the PC alone and more often than not it sorts itself. Very frustrating though.
